The short answer

What is fall cleanup?

Fall cleanup deals with leaves and loose yard debris. We pick up leaves and branches, rake the lawn and haul away the agreed debris. It helps clear the lawn before the next season.

A few leaves or a thick blanket

A thin layer of finely chopped leaves can return plant matter to the lawn. A heavy layer that hides the grass is different. It can block light and mat down when wet.

If leaves are piling up faster than you can deal with them, pickup can help. Tell us where they gather and whether more are still falling.

The fall work we offer

You can request leaf pickup, branch pickup, lawn raking and debris hauling. The quote confirms which areas to clear and the amount of work.

Leaves may be spread over the grass or tucked along a fence. Branches may be mixed in. Let us know about both so we can plan the cleanup.

Debris hauling covers the agreed yard work. If you have other waste or very large branches, ask about it first. Do not add items to a pile and assume they can all be taken.

Plan around the leaves you have

You do not have to wait for a perfect leaf-free day to send a request. Tell us how full the yard is now. Let us know if trees are still dropping leaves.

A single cleanup clears the agreed work at that visit. It does not stop more leaves from falling. If you want to discuss more than one visit, include that in the quote request. Availability and timing need to be confirmed.

Soft ground and weather can affect the work. A calendar date alone cannot tell us the state of your lawn.

A simple check before winter

Start with a clear lawn and a short list of what is left to do. A cleanup is useful, but it is not every kind of fall yard work.

  • Pick up toys and loose items that should not sit on the grass.
  • Point out piles, low spots and areas you want cleared.
  • Keep paths to gates open for the agreed work.
  • Ask about lawn care if the grass needs more than a cleanup.
  • Make a separate plan for sprinkler care before freezing weather.

Leave a useful note for spring

After leaves are cleared, take note of bare patches, worn paths or spots that stayed wet. It can be hard to recall them once the yard is covered again.

Those notes can help when you ask for spring work. They do not mean you need to book every service now. Start with the cleanup, then choose what the lawn needs next.

Tell us where the leaves are

Rent a Rake began in 2006. We can help with fall yard work in the six communities below.

For a quote, share your town, yard size if known, access and the amount of leaves or branches. Say whether the debris is loose, bagged or in piles. If you want it hauled away, make that clear.

Fall cleanup pricing is by quote. Send the work you want done so the plan and price can be confirmed.

Fall Cleanup questions

Ask about your property
Do you remove fall leaves?

Yes. Leaf pickup is one of our fall cleanup services. Describe the areas and how much has built up.

Can you rake and haul the debris too?

Yes. Lawn raking and hauling the agreed debris are available. Include them in your request.

Do you pick up branches?

Yes. Mention the size and amount, especially large branches, so the job can be confirmed.

Should I wait for every leaf to fall?

You can ask for a quote now. Tell us if more leaves are falling and discuss the timing that suits the work.

Will one visit keep the yard clear all fall?

More leaves may fall after a visit. Ask about further work if you need it; repeat visits are not assumed.

Can I leave a few chopped leaves on the lawn?

A light layer can be useful. A thick mat covering the grass is a different matter. If the lawn is buried, clearing it may be the better next step.

Does cleanup include sprinkler winter care?

No sprinkler winter care is promised as part of a cleanup. Ask about your system as a separate job.

How do I get a fall cleanup price?

Request a quote with your town, yard details and cleanup list. We do not list fall cleanup prices online.
